heen electrical

This is a small office building for a industrial electrical contractor. The project had one technical challenge: the owners purchased a heavy timber frame from a supplier in North Carolina, and wanted that frame to be fully exposed on the interior of the building. After an analysis of their design goals, budget, and energy code requirements, we determined that the most efficient building envelope was one constructed of structural insulated panels, or SIPs. SIPs are framing and high-value insulation fabricated in one relatively lightweight component. The panels were fabricated in Colorado, and shipped to the building site in North Dakota, where they had to fit precisely around the frame.
