AEA LLC partnered with the United Community Corporation (UCC) of Newark, NJ to design this 36-unit affordable housing project to be located on Springfield Avenue in Newark’s Central Ward. The ground floor will contain parking and UCC’s program offices. There will be a second level of parking above. The upper floors will contain 36 dwelling units, all renting at 20-80% below AMI, as well as tenant amenity spaces. The project includes a rear yard garden with a firepit for tenants. UCC applied in 2023 to Invest Newark (the city land bank) to acquire the property.
